Winter is not only the season, when we heat ourselves in warm sheep's wool products, but also the time when hardworking women hands create most of these unique woolen slippers. On the farm winter months are the time when women can sit and take knitting needles and crochet hooks in their hands.
Farmers' wives from Solčavsko weave their own sheep's wool and they prepare spun wool themselves. They shear sheep twice a year. That is enough for all wool knitted and crocheted slippers. Each sheep gives around one kilogram of shearing wool. In autumn you can get a little more wool, because it is very clean and beautiful. In the spring, more wool goes to waste, because this one is dirtier. Farmers' wives wash wool themselves. They soak it in water in barrels. Afterwards wool has to be dried out and ventilated on the net in the shadow of the attic. Completely natural wool yarn is white, black and gray and can also be colored with completely natural additives (such as wine, red beet, etc.).
Slippers made from sheep's wool are very practical, warm and extremely durable. They take a lot of effort and work. In Lowul warm slippers are captured memories of sunny mountain pastures where in the summer in this pure, unspoiled nature you can see tiny white dots that harmoniously blend with white rocks and colorful mountain flowers into a beautiful carpet of the mountain world.
Lowul slippers show very clearly that we master in felted products and we always try to find something different. It is our desire to make something new, unique, exciting, chick and such, you can’t find elsewhere. That encouraged us to manufacture products that can only be found in our store.
